“Water Poetry” by Akira Pelletier

Sitka floods
It rains every day
Floods the town like the ocean
Then we are a pond

Water Lullaby
Water is cold,
Water is warm,
Water is wet
Water Is dry

Rain in the sky means a day in
Rain means family time
Rain is calm
Rain puts us to sleep with its beautiful music

Water is the thing that keeps us alive
Water is our everyday need

Summer Swim
We go for a swim
We see the fish swimming
We swim the whole day

Salmon Swim
As the fish swim around
They thrash around to stay alive
The bears hunt for food

— Akira Pelletier is a seventh grader at Blatchley Middle School in Sitka, Alaska
