The salty, glacial water of Southeast is both merciful and merciless

It can gently caress you, 

carrying you down the channel as you bask under the sun

And in the same day,

it can take the lives of many through a furious storm

It has taught me how to use my sensitivity,

when to be tender,

to be soft with someones heart

And when to be fierce,

to respond with dangerous ferocity

and an icy exterior

But if I have learned anything at all,

It’s that salt water is a force to be reckoned with

And so am I
