“Source” by Katrina Peavey

Soar upon thunderous wings
Homeward bound across Clarence Strait

Truths revealed where roots greet sea
Cedar ceding eyes to me

Climb amber memories once ignored
Bring salted reminders swiftly aboard

Greet tidal waves that now deliver
Comfort of our Mother’s whispers

Splintered vessel rocked to peace
Restored beneath celestial mountain peaks

Beholden palms cup oceanic lore
Rubious prudence allaying rusted cores

Cast silver nets over sequinned lessons
Steady the course toward cardinal blessings

Remove habitual hooks threatening to drag
Float steadily with our Great Land

Before turning starboard to shore
Place hand on heart, promise to revere and restore

Wet cold and fun A fun time to boat Time to have a great time Existing for a new person Rivers lakes creeks
