Action Toolkit
There are all sorts of ways to get involved. Here are but a few ways that you can take action for the environment.
Vote the environment:
Register to vote in your hometown and make your voice heard at the polls. For Alaska residents, visit the State of Alaska's Division of Elections site to complete your voter registration application and keep notice of upcoming elections. Stop by the SEACC office for in-person voter registration forms. We have a registrar in-office that can help you with new applications or updates.
Track a bill:
State: Visit the Alaska Legislature's BASIS (Bill Action and Status Inquiry System) site to track bills of environmental concerns. Learn the bill's status and history.
Federal: Track federal legislation from the Thomas site. A valuable site that makes Legislative information available to the public.
Contact your Representatives:
For more information on your Congressional representatives, their addresses and email, click here. To contact your Alaskan representative, click here.
Write a letter:
Write letters-to-the-editor and encourage others to do so. Read Fighting by Writing to find out how to write letters to the editor, what makes a good letter, submission details and other tips to put your voice out there in print.
Support SEACC:
Support Southeast Alaska's most effective conservation voice for the Tongass National Forest. Donate here or volunteer at our office.
Join SEACC's E-alert team:
Stay informed on what's happening on the Tongass and what you can do to help. To join, just send an email to laura@seacc.org with your name and the city and state in which you reside.
Sign up for ACV's email report:
Sign up to receive Conservation Watch, Alaska Conservation Voter's weekly (during session) email report on legislative and administration activity.
