Juneau residents come out to share their love of the Tongass with SenatorsOn Thursday evening, Juneau residents turned out at the Ruby Room in the Emporium Mall downtown to make Valentines expressing their love for the Tongass National Forest. The Southeast Alaska Conservation Council will send the valentines to Alaska Senators Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich.

- The lawsuit filed today - Organized Village of Kake v U.S. Department of Agriculture - seeks to end the 2003, Bush-era decision to “temporarily” exempt the Tongass from the national Roadless Rule. The lawsuit asserts that this exemption was illegally adopted.
